Care for Tomorrow

Our Impact

Care for Tomorrow was the largest fundraising campaign in the history of the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation which contributed over $48 million for the new Women and Infants Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent. This campaign was created to respond to maternal and infant health challenges and build a healthier future for our families and our communities.

The Care for Tomorrow campaign focused on providing specialized, continuum of care, while supporting families through the treatment process. These campaign goals resulted in generous philanthropic donors that supported the following improvements:

  • Relocating the Hilbert Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Expanding the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit—now one of Indiana’s largest pediatric ERs with care spaces, including trauma, behavioral health, sensory and comfort-focused rooms
  • Launching a Nurse Navigation Program to guide patients and families through complex care carrying into their days at home
  • Advancing pediatric research to improve outcomes for our youngest patients
  • Creating an endowment to support Patient and Family Support Services programs like Child Life, Healing Arts, and more—ensuring families receive holistic, compassionate care when they need it most
  • Improving the design of Kid-friendly spaces and technology to reduce anxiety, support sensory needs, and ease medical procedures with advanced tools and calming visuals
  • Creating a Courtyard to provide a healing and place of respite for families and care team members

As a result of the campaign, the Women and Infants Hospital officially opened its doors January 18, 2025. Learn more by clicking here.

Our Inspiration

Inspired by the heartfelt experiences shared by patients and families, the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation stepped forward to ensure the new Women and Infants Hospital would be more than just a place of care. The hospital was already planned, but generous donor support helped elevate the experience, creating the best possible environment for mothers, babies, and families.

A special lobby wall now honors the powerful stories that inspired this change. We invite you to discover these stories and learn more about the impact of compassionate care.

Campaign success

On June 5, 2025, the campaign successfully came to a close with a celebration honoring the generosity and dedication of the community, donors, and healthcare leaders who made this milestone possible.

The celebration featured the unveiling of a statue honoring Peyton Manning for his extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to the campaign and a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly relocated Hilbert Pediatric Emergency Department, expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and new Courtyard space.
