The Spirit of Service

St. Vincent serves patients from all over Indiana and beyond. Because of this, many patients come to St. Vincent Indianapolis from significant distances, and many families struggle financially on order to be near a loved one who is hospitalized.

A dedicated hospitality house on the St. Vincent Indianapolis campus, St. Vincent House will serve as a home away from home for families who live more than 30 miles from St. Vincent Indianapolis, especially those facing financial barriers.

As a type of retreat the facility is designed to convey a sense of peace and rest, a place for emotional and spiritual refreshment, and a place where a family can just be family. The St. Vincent House will offer family focused care to demonstrate St. Vincent's Spirit of Caring.

Please join us for a community open house to view the newly opened St. Vincent House. More information about the community open house is available here.

The St. Vincent House provides:

  • •  20 individual rooms with private bathrooms, TVs, and WI-FI
  • •  Shared kitchens and dining rooms, laundry facilities, a chapel, a playroom and meditation spaces.
  • •  Free shuttle to and from the hospital
  • •  Exterior will include a playground, walking paths, a healing garden, and other areas for respite and reflection.

An Investment in Hospitality

The St. Vincent House would not be possible without the support of the community. By supporting the St. Vincent House you will help to create a new atmosphere of comfort, calm and healing, giving the gift of space and peace to families in need.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers may become engaged at the St. Vincent House by signing up for regular shifts to help with registration, hostessing, cleaning, gardening, organizing, program planning and serving our families. Volunteers will also be needed for special projects such as planting flowers, raking leaves, and organizing craft, meal and social activities for families.

"After having twin babies who spent 7 1/2 weeks in the NICU at St. Vincent, I can tell you that having a place like St. Vincent House for parents to rest, relax and bond with other families in a similar situation will be invaluable and reinforce the healing process."
