Peyton Manning Children's - St. John's Childrens' Clinic
The Peyton Manning Children's - St. John's Childrens' Clinic at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson has been the answer for families who might otherwise be deciding between food on the table or immunizations for their children. Most know the Clinic provides routine physicals, medical care for minor illnesses and injuries, and vaccinations to prevent childhood diseases. When children have serious or chronic illness or injury, the Clinic also steps in -providing referrals to specialists who provide free care or assistance with financing.
This little brick building at the corner of 19th and Meridian Streets, was probably the smallest construction project with the most impact on Ascension St. Vincent Anderson's mission. The building opened in 1991, providing the Clinic a permanent location and children of families in need a permanent health care home.
In August 2021, the Clinic celebrated its 30th anniversary of the groundbreaking of its permanent location and rededicated the Clinic after a $257,000 renovation of its patient exam rooms and nursing station. Foundation donors and contributions from the Kids Classic provided the needed renovation funds. The Foundation continues to provide annual operational support to the Clinic, which sees 2200 children a year and performs 3000-3500 medical treatments.
