Mirra helps cancer patients following her own cancer journey

I have witnessed first hand the impact of your support. I became an oncology navigator shortly after completing my own personal cancer journey. As a patient of Dr. Chris Leagre, I received radiation therapy at the Cancer Center. That was when I learned that Foundation donors were responsible for the state-of-the-art care I was about to receive. It gave me great confidence knowing that I had one of the best radiation oncologists and the newest technology fighting cancer with me...all because of generous donors like you! Today, I am cancer free and take great pleasure in working at the Cancer Center – it feels like home to me. The people, the space, and the staff’s display of compassion to our patients and their families make the Cancer Center one of the best places I have ever worked.

Last fiscal year, donor support assisted patient navigators to support over 2,250 cancer patients in Anderson, Kokomo and Indianapolis communities.
