Jack Bradley’s Team
After almost 39 weeks of a perfect pregnancy, Natalie and Jack unfortunately experienced significant complications, leading to an emergency c-section. The traumatic birth experience led Jack to experience HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy). As a result of this, Jack had a five-day journey at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, receiving world-class care from a talented, dedicated, and highly compassionate team of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and more. Unfortunately, Jack's body was not able to recover and, after undergoing several cutting-edge treatment attempts to no avail, Jack received comfort care to ensure he would not experience any pain or suffering. After fighting for 24+ hours, when doctors expected just minutes, Jack was able to go home with his parents for his final hours with the help of the PMCH Palliative Care team, as well as his doctors and nurses.
Though his time with us was brief—just five precious days—Jack’s presence touched countless lives, inspiring an army of prayer warriors as he courageously fought against all odds. Jack’s gentle spirit shone through his love for books, music, March Madness, Disney movies, and his cherished hospital companion, a little teddy bear. His final gift to his parents was an extraordinary 30-plus hours spent together receiving only comfort care, with the final five hours spent at home, exploring his nursery and enjoying the soothing rhythm of the porch swing—a memory his parents will treasure forever.
Natalie and Chase were overwhelmed with support and have chosen to designate the funds to establish and endowed Jack Bradley Williams Nursing Scholarship fund and a NICU patient room will be named in his memory. The nursing scholarships awarded will have a significant impact on generations of nurses and the children and families they serve at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent. 100% of donations are tax-deductible.
