Will you be there for those born fighting, like Abigail?

This is baby Abigail Give Now 1:2

Born blind with a rare syndrome.

Her family had no idea it was coming.

Picture expecting a healthy baby, only to have it all change. Imagine spending the holidays away from home as your tiny baby fights for her life.

A family is going through that right now. For a family like Abigail Riggle’s the holidays are hard.

She spent her first Christmas in the hospital while her family stayed hours from home at St. Vincent (hospitality) House.Abigail’s mom, Mandy, never dreamed this could happen. Four months earlier she was pregnant with a healthy baby and ready to welcome her any day. It all changed the day Abigail was born. She was taken to the St. Vincent Indianapolis Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where Mandy learned that her sweet girl had Branchio Occulo Facial Syndrome.

“We took a car seat to the hospital thinking we’d bring our baby girl home. Watching it sit empty was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.” Said Mandy.
Not only was Abigail blind, she’d need to have a trach tube, ventilator and a feeding tube to survive.

Desperate to give her kids the holiday they deserved, Mandy, brought their Christmas tree from home in Bedford up to the room at St. Vincent House. Then, when the kids were asleep with their dad, she went to Target in the middle of the night to buy a few presents. Mandy stayed up all night to wrap gifts as her kids slept.

They all woke up to Christmas away from home, but still together.

The Riggles took their celebration to Abigail and the NICU. They set up a small tree in her room and spent the Holiday by her side.
Without donors, that special Christmas would not have been possible. Without donors like you, the story of a family like Abigail’s could end very differently.

Abigail just celebrated her first birthday in September. Mandy is proud of her, and all she’s accomplished already. She continues to be under the care of doctors at Peyton Manning Children’s hospital.
Salutation, by donating you are wrapping your arms around those in need.

Your gifts can do things like:

• make battling illness and injury easier for patients of all ages.
• keep the families of the sickest patients (like Abigail) nearby the hospital when their loved-one needs them.
• ensure access to health care for the poor and vulnerable.

The list goes on!

This holiday season, your gifts mean everything to a baby, a family, or a patient in need.

May your Holiday Season be blessed!
